The Toronto Blue Jays have traded right-handed pitcher Hector Perez to the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations, the team announced Friday.
The move comes as the Blue Jays needed to make room on their 40-man roster after agreeing to sign outfielder George Springer earlier this week.
Perez, 24, appeared in just one game for the Blue Jays in 2020, pitching 1.2 innings while allowing three hits and two runs in 13-2 loss to the New York Yankees on Sept. 16.
