With a spot in October clinched but a bye still up for grabs, the Toronto Blue Jays are making some changes to their rotation to close the year.
The Blue Jays will send Shane Bieber to the mound on Friday, with Trey Yesavage to pitch Saturday and Kevin Gausman will end the season on Sunday against the Rays should the game factor into the race for the AL East, per Sportsnet's Blake Murphy.
As for Thursday's game against the Boston Red Sox, the Blue Jays' plans are still to be determined, but could involve Jose Berrios, who was recently assigned to the bullpen.
Originally, Bieber was set to go on Thursday with Yesavage on Friday, but according to Murphy, the team is hoping to give Bieber some extra rest as he continues his recovery from Tommy John Surgery, freeing up Thursday for a quasi-bullpen game.
