Following an impressive week of play, Bo Bichette capped things off by reaching uncharted territory in Toronto Blue Jays history.
With a second-inning swing that went yard against the Athletics on Saturday, the 27-year-old became the first shortstop in franchise history to reach 100 career MLB home runs.
The milestone-reaching knock was his second homer of the four-game series and third in his last four outings. He's now at seven for the season.
Bichette entered the day slashing .279/.328/.425 for 25 runs and 31 RBIs on 240 at-bats.
The two-time all-star now stands alone with his 100 dingers at SS in the Blue Jays record books, even more than the late Tony Fernandez, who had 94 and is considered the greatest to play the position in team history, or Alex Gonzales who hit 83 in 890 games with the Jays and reached double-digit homers in six of his final seven seasons in Toronto.
