Walker Buehler's one-year show me contract with the Boston Red Sox is official.
The Red Sox announced Buehler's signing on Saturday.
The 30-year-old starter pitched for the Los Angeles Dodgers for his first seven big-league seasons. Buehler is a two-time All-Star (2019 and 2021) and won two World Series titles (2020 and 2024).
The right-hander recorded a 1-6 record, 5.38 ERA and 64 strikeouts over 75.1 innings in 2024 as he returned from Tommy John surgery.
In Game 5 of the World Series against the New York Yankees, Buehler came out of the bullpen and secured the series-clinching save on one day of rest.
Buehler holds a career 47-22 record, 3.27 ERA and 754 strikeouts. He will look to regain his previous form that saw him finish fourth in Cy-Young voting in 2021, when he finished with a 2.47 ERA and 212 strikeouts over 207.2 innings.
