The Atlanta Braves acquired outfielder Jorge Soler from the Kansas City Royals in exchange for right-handed pitcher Kasey Kalich, the teams announced on deadline day.

Originally signed by the Chicago Cubs as a non-drafted free agent in 2012, Soler was dealt to the Royals in 2016. The 29-year-old is batting .192 this season, with 13 home runs, across 308 at bats with Kansas City.

Kalich, a 23-year-old prospect, went 0-2 on the season with a 3.26 ERA in 20 games out of the bullpen for High-A Rome, a minor league affiliate of the Braves.
