The first-placed Milwaukee Brewers will be without one of their top hitters for the foreseeable future.
Outfielder Jackson Chourio has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a strained right hamstring, retroactive to July 30, the team announced Friday.
The 21-year-old is hitting for a .276 average and .786 OPS with 17 home runs, 18 stolen bases and 76 RBIs in 106 games so far this season.
Chourio left the Brewers' game against the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday after cramping up while legging out a triple after hitting an opposite-field line drive off the right-field wall.
It stands to reason that switch-hitting speedster Blake Perkins will see additional time in the outfield during Chourio's absence.
