Dodgers activate Dalton Rushing off IL to strictly hit

The Los Angeles Dodgers catcher was activated from the injured list on Friday to be used as a designated hitter or pinch hitter, the team announced.

Rushing is still rehabbing a torn UCL in his right elbow and has been shut down from defence for the remainder of 2026.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Rushing will get a few pinch-hit opportunities over the final weekend of the regular season to see if he will make the post-season roster.

Rushing is hitting .249 with 12 home runs, 36 RBI and an OPS of .798 in 78 games this season.
