The Los Angeles Dodgers are getting some reinforcements.
Shohei Ohtani and Tarik Skubal have been activated from the injured list and the bereavement list, respectively, the team announced on Wednesday.
Ohtani has been on the IL since Sept. 9 due to right biceps inflammation and lingering soreness in his left knee.
Manager Dave Roberts said Ohtani is feeling “considerably” better on Tuesday.
“I would say if he was a five, he's probably an eight or a nine right now,” Roberts said before the Dodgers faced San Diego.
Ohtani will bat second for the Dodgers on Wednesday as the designated hitter instead of his usual leadoff spot. Mookie Betts will remain atop the order for the time being.
The two-way star is slashing .277/.380/.522 with a .902 OPS, 30 homers and 80 RBIs in 130 games in 2026. He's not expected to resume pitching this season.
Skubal did not miss a start, as he spent just three days away from the team.
Top prospect Josue De Paula was optioned to triple-A in a corresponding move, but it still remains likely he will rejoin the team for the post-season, per The Athletic's Katie Woo. Right-handed pitcher Kyle Hurt was also sent down.
De Paula, the No. 6 ranked prospect in baseball, was very effective in his first 11 MLB games. He slashed .323/.500/.581 with a 1.081 OPS and a home run.
