Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Blake Snell could be back pitching sooner than initially expected.
According to The Athletic's Katie Woo, Snell is set to undergo NanoScope surgery Tuesday, the same surgery Detroit Tigers ace Tarik Skubal underwent recently.
Skubal had a more aggressive type of minimally invasive surgery on May 6, which allowed him to resume playing catch and soft tossing just over a week later.
The surgery will be to remove loose bodies in Snell's pitching elbow.
The 33-year-old missed most of the 2025 regular season because of a shoulder injury, which limited him to 11 starts, but he was able to make six appearances in the playoffs. Snell had a 3-2 record in the post-season to help the Dodgers to a second consecutive World Series title.
Snell’s latest injury was discovered last Thursday.
