The Los Angeles Dodgers pitching woes continued Friday.
Los Angeles announced that it placed star right-hander Tyler Glasnow on the injured list with right-elbow tendinitis.
It will be Glasnow's second trip to the injured list in his debut season with the Dodgers. The 30-year-old has served as a top-of-the-rotation arm for the NL West leaders, striking out 168 hitters through 134.0 innings of work while posting a 3.49 ERA.
The Dodgers acquired Glasnow from the Tampa Bay Rays in the off-season, and the six-foot-eight hurler proceeded to make his first All-Star team before dealing with injuries in the second half.
Glasnow signed a five-year, $136.56 million extension in Los Angeles after the trade.
He had just returned from the injured list on July 24 and has made four starts in that time, with his most recent outing being a solid seven-inning performance against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday.
Back tightness sent him to the IL on July 9.
The Dodgers recalled left-handed pitcher Justin Wrobleski to take Glasnow's spot on the roster. Wrobleski has posted a 4.05 ERA over 20.0 innings with Los Angeles in the majors this season.
Glasnow joins the likes of Yoshinobu Yamamoto, River Ryan, Dustin May, Tony Gonsolin and Emmet Sheehan on the Dodgers' injured list.
