Though the MLB season has been done for some time, 29 fanbases were delivered a gut-punch of a loss on Thursday.
The two-time reigning World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers somehow got even better in the second week of January, as they reportedly put pen to paper on a four-year, $240 million deal for superstar outfielder Kyle Tucker — the crown jewel of the off-season.
Already employing some of the best players and biggest names in baseball, such as four-time MVP Shohei Ohtani, four-time World Series champ Mookie Betts, World Series MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto and nine-time all-star Freddie Freeman, it seemed hard to fathom they could get any more dangerous.
But they did just that by picking up Tucker — four-time all-star and World Series champ from his time with the Houston Astros.
By acquiring his services, they sent fanbases across the league into a tailspin, but none more so than the New York Mets and Toronto Blue Jays, who were reported to be firmly in the race for Tucker's services.
