Springer earned the honours in the American League with three home runs — including a pair Saturday afternoon against the Kansas City Royals — along with seven RBIs and a slash line of .400/.516/.960.
The Toronto-born Votto became only the eighth player in MLB history to homer in seven consecutive games. Votto finished the week with seven homers and 11 RBIs with a .375/.448/1.250 slash line.
It’s the third player of the week award for Springer in his career and the sixth for Votto, who also nabbed his first MLB player of the month award alongside Los Angeles Angels superstar Shohei Otani.
