The San Francisco Giants are getting three key pieces back ahead of their three-game series with the Toronto Blue Jays.
San Francisco announced Tuesday that it has reinstated left-handed pitcher Blake Snell and infielders Wilmer Flores and Thairo Estrada from the injured list.
In corresponding moves, the team designated shortstop Nick Ahmed for assignment and sent left-handed pitcher Kolton Ingram to triple-A.
Snell, 31, will start Tuesday's game against Toronto's Yusei Kikuchi, with the reigning NL Cy Young winner looking to get his season on track.
After signing a deal in the middle of spring training, Snell has struggled with the Giants, pitching to a 9.51 ERA over 23.2 innings. He has been on the injured list twice and only made six starts.
Both of Snell's stints on the injured list this season have been caused by a groin injury.
San Francisco signed Snell to a two-year, $62 million deal after the former San Diego Padres star posted a 2.25 ERA over 180 innings while striking out 234 hitters.
Estrada, 28, has been the Giants' primary second baseman over the past three seasons. Through 77 games in 2024, he owns a .640 OPS and has hit nine home runs. He was placed on the 10-day injured list on June 28 with a left wrist sprain.
Flores, 32, also went on the injured list on June 28 due to knee tendonities. He has struggled at the plate this season, posting just a .599 OPS in 227 plate appearances.
