Evan Longoria is hanging up his cleats.
The longtime MLB third baseman will sign a one-day contract and retire as a member of the Tampa Bay Rays, the team announced on Friday.
Longoria is set to sign the contract on Saturday, and the team will honour him in a pre-game ceremony ahead of its contest with the Miami Marlins at George M. Steinbrenner Field.
The 39-year-old last played in MLB in 2023, capping a 16-year career spent with the Rays, San Francisco Giants and Arizona Diamondbacks.
Longoria spent his first decade in the league with the Rays, winning rookie of the year in 2008 while helping the team make its first-ever World Series appearance, where it ultimately fell to the Philadelphia Phillies.
He'd go on to make three all-star teams, win three Gold Gloves and claim a Silver Slugger with Tampa Bay before being traded to the Giants in December 2017.
For his career, Longoria batted .264 with 342 home runs and 1,149 RBIs. He compiled 58.9 bWAR over his 16 seasons, peaking in 2010 as an 8.2-win player.
