Major League Baseball has rescheduled three games between the New York Mets and Washington Nationals after a COVID-19 outbreak within the Nationals organization.
The first game will be made up on June 19 as part of a split doubleheader with a game previously scheduled that day. The second game will be played June 28, which was originally a day off for both teams. The third game will be played Sept. 4 as part of a split doubleheader with a game originally scheduled that day.
All three games will be played at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C., and the doubleheader games will be seven innings instead of nine.
The first four games of the Nationals season were postponed after four players tested positive for COVID-19 and seven more were forced to quarantine as close contacts. The team’s game on Monday against the Atlanta Braves was made up earlier on Wednesday as part of a doubleheader.
