Cincinnati Reds @ Minnesota Twins
This mini two-game series beginning tonight in Minnesota might be an over bettor’s delight. In games involving the Twins, the over is a spectacular 44-24-3 (64.7%), which is the best mark in MLB. The over is also 41-26-3 (61.2%) when the Reds are involved, which ranks third in the MLB.
Tonight’s pitching matchup is Tyler Mahle (7-2, 3.39 ERA, 1.09 WHIP) for Cincinnati versus J.A. Happ (3-3, 6.12 ERA, 1.44 ERA) for Minnesota, with the total set at 9.5. The over is 5-1 in Cincy’s last six road games versus a left-handed starter, and 12-4-1 in Minnesota’s last 17 home games.
Take the over at -107 tonight.
Kansas City Royals @ New York Yankees
I’ve learned some interesting trends while writing these pieces, but this specific trend really caught me off guard: The Yankees are cashing a ton of unders. New York hosts Kansas City for a three-game series starting Tuesday night in the Bronx, and the Yankees are 40-30-1 (57.1%) overall this season to the under, which ranks third in all of baseball. The under is also 21-14-1 (60.0%) in games involving the Bronx Bombers at Yankee Stadium.
You’ve also been in the black if you’ve been taking the under when the Royals are on the road. Kansas City is 18-13-2 (58.1%) to the under as the visitor this season, which is the second best mark in MLB.
Keep a close eye on the total when it’s posted because the under is 11-5-1 in New York’s last 17 home games with the total set at 9.0-to-10.5.
San Francisco Giants @ Los Angeles Angels
The Giants have been an ATM against the run line this season and face the Angels in a two-game series starting Tuesday night in Anaheim. San Francisco is the best team in baseball against the spread by going a robust 47-25-0 (65.3%) versus the run line. The Giants are also 26-12-0 (68.4%) against the spread as the visitor this season, which is number two in baseball.
The Angels are a mediocre 32-40-0 (44.4%) overall against the run line and 18-20-0 (47.4%) as the home team.
Washington Nationals @ Philadelphia Phillies
If you’re looking to dabble in a player prop, have a gander at the Nationals and Phillies, who begin a two-game series in Philadelphia on Tuesday night. If you’re inclined to use a prop builder or even a straight-up total-bases bet, look at the red-hot Kyle Schwarber. Washington’s left fielder has slashed an eye-popping .385/.414/1.077 over his last seven games. Schwarber has also racked up six homers and 11 RBI in his last 26 at-bats.
The Phillies are scheduled to start Zack Wheeler (5-3, 2.15 ERA, 0.93 WHIP) on Tuesday and Vince Velasquez (2-2, 4.44 ERA, 1.42 WHIP) on Wednesday, and Schwarber has combined to go 0-for-7 with one walk against that pair this season. But Wheeler and Velasquez have surrendered six homers combined to left-handed batters this season, so feel free to peg Schwarber to stay as hot as he’s been the past seven games.
