The Baltimore Orioles assigned slugger Ryan Mountcastle to the 10-day injured list with vertigo ahead of a three-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays.
The assignment is retroactive to June 10.
Mountcastle has dominated the Blue Jays at the plate throughout his career, hitting .306/.368/.613 in 45 games. Mountcastle's 15 home runs and 36 RBI against the Blue Jays are his most against any opponent.
Before Tuesday's series opener, the Blue Jays activated catcher Danny Jansen from the IL, assigned slugger Brandon Belt to the 10-day IL and moved reliever Adam Cimber to the paternity list.
