After losing right-handed starter Grayson Rodriguez to the injured list Wednesday, the Baltimore Orioles are getting a boost to their rotation with Kyle Bradish's return.
The team announced Thursday morning that the 27-year-old had been reinstated from the injured list and will start the final game of its series against the New York Yankees.
Bradish started the year on the shelf due to a right UCL sprain that he suffered right before spring training.
In 2023, Bradish emerged as one of the top pitchers in the American League, finishing fourth in Cy Young voting after posting a 2.83 ERA and 168 strikeouts over 168.2 innings.
A fourth-round pick of the Orioles in 2018, Bradish made three rehab starts, one at double-A and two and triple-A, and allowed five runs over 11.1 innings while striking out 14 and walking four.
To make room for Bradish on the roster, the Orioles designated deliver Yohan Ramirez for assignment.
Baltimore enters play Thursday atop the AL East with a 19-11 record and has won two of the first three games of its series against the Yankees.
You can watch Bradish make his season debut against the loaded New York offence on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+. Coverage begins at 1 p.m. ET / 10 a.m. PT.
