Some fans at the 2026 Home Run Derby will see their chances of catching a ball greatly increase.
A portion of those sitting in the outfield are set to receive "giant" baseball gloves for the occasion, according to a post on X from FOX 29 Philadelphia's Chris O'Connell.
The bright blue gloves appear to be significantly larger than average size and are sponsored by GEICO.
The derby, scheduled for Monday night at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT (Sportsnet and Sportsnet+), is changing up its format for this year's event.
MLB is abandoning the clock at Philadelphia's Citizens Bank Park and will instead use a swing-based format where hitters start each round with a limit on the number of cuts they can take.
Participants will have 20 swings in Round 1, 15 in Round 2 then 15 again in Round 3.
The eight-player field this year includes Kyle Schwarber (Philadelphia Phillies), Ben Rice (New York Yankees), Junior Caminero (Tampa Bay Rays), Jordan Walker (St. Louis Cardinals), Bryce Harper (Phillies), Wilson Contreras (Boston Red Sox), Munetaka Murakami (Chicago White Sox) and Jac Caglianone (Kansas City Royals).
The winner will receive a chain featuring a Liberty Bell casting and 250 mixed-cut rubies, paying tribute to Philadelphia and the 250th anniversary of America.
