The Toronto Blue Jays are adding some lefty slugging.
Corner-infield prospect Sean Keys is set to join the MLB club in Toronto, Sportsnet can confirm on Friday.
According to Sportsnet's Ben Nicholson-Smith, Keys will be activated on Saturday when the Blue Jays continue a four-game series against the Texas Rangers.
Keys, 23, has raked in the minors this season, bashing 24 home runs across 67 games in double-A and triple-A. Between the two levels, Keys is slashing .284/.409/.619 while splitting his time between first and third base.
Selected in the fourth round of the 2024 draft, Keys ranks 14th on MLB.com's Blue Jays prospect ranking.
It is unclear who the Blue Jays plan to send down to make room for Keys on the big-league roster.
Toronto is aiming to end a three-game losing streak as it hosts the Rangers on Friday (Sportsnet, Sportsnet+, 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT).
