Red Sox DH J.D. Martinez not on 26-man roster for wild-card game vs. Yankees

Follow The Money's Mitch Moss and Pauly Howard are licking their chops over the amount of prop bets you can play for the AL wild card game between bitter rivals, as the Yankees and Red Sox are set to lock horns in a win or go home setting.

The Boston Red Sox will be without an important bat when they host the New York Yankees in a winner-take-all wild-card game on Tuesday.

The team did not include slugger J.D. Martinez on its 26-man roster for the game. Chris Sale, who started Sunday's must-win game against the Washington Nationals, was also left off the roster.

Martinez was injured Sunday while running the bases and was unable to finish the game. The 34-year-old hit .286 this season with 28 home runs, 42 doubles and 99 RBIs.

Meanwhile, the New York Yankees will have Kyle Higashioka catching for pitcher Gerrit Cole with Gary Sanchez available off the bench.

You can watch the American League wild-card game on Sportsnet and SN Now Tuesday night at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT.
