Red Sox place Garrett Crochet on 15-day injured list

The Boston Red Sox are going to have to press ahead without their ace.

Garrett Crochet has been placed on the 15-day injured list with left shoulder inflammation, the team announced Wednesday prior to a game against the Toronto Blue Jays.

The left-hander last pitched Saturday, going six innings against the Baltimore Orioles.

Crochet is 3-3 with a 6.30 ERA this season.

Crochet has been an AL all-star the last two seasons and led the league in strikeouts in 2025.

Boston recalled infielder/outfielder Nate Eaton from triple-A Worcester to fill Crochet's spot on the roste.r
