The Boston Red Sox have re-instated Nathan Eovaldi from the 15-day injured list, and the right-handed pitcher will get the start Thursday afternoon against the Baltimore Orioles.

Eovaldi landed on the IL on Aug. 23, retroactive to Aug. 19, due to inflammation in his right shoulder.

The 32-year-old from Alvin, Texas, holds a 5-3 record with a 4.15 ERA and 1.26 WHIP through 18 starts this season.

Boston optioned right-handed pitcher Connor Seabold to triple-A Worcester in order to open up a spot for Eovaldi on the roster.

Watch the Red Sox host the Orioles starting at 1:30 p.m. ET / 10:30 a.m. PT on Sportsnet and SN NOW. If the Orioles lose the game, the Toronto Blue Jays — who are idle Thursday — will officially clinch a playoff spot.
