The Los Angeles Angels and right-hander Noah Syndergaard are in agreement on a one-year, $21-million contract, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.
The Angels will have to give up a second-round draft pick as part of the deal as the New York Mets had made Syndergaard a qualifying offer.
Syndergaard, 29, has played his entire career with the Mets thus far, earning an All-Star nod in 2016. The Toronto Blue Jays drafted him in the first round in 2010.
The Mansfield, TX., native hasn’t pitched much since undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2020 and suffering a series of setbacks. He logged two innings in 2021.
