The Cleveland Guardians are adding a thunderous bat to their lineup.
The Los Angeles Angels have traded Jo Adell to the Guardians, the New York Post's Jon Heyman reported on Monday.
In return, the Angels will receive minor-league catcher Jacob Cozart from the Guardians, MLB.com's Mark Feinsand reported.
One year removed from a 37-home-run season, Adell is in the midst of a down year but still boasts elite average bat speed, ranking top-10 in MLB.
The 27-year-old outfielder has 16 home runs, 61 RBIs and a .682 OPS in 111 games with the Angels this season.
He adds meaningful pop to a Guardians lineup that ranks 27th in home runs and 29th in runs scored, and stands to slot into their outfield in right, with rookie Chase DeLauter potentially getting more time at designated hitter.
