The Houston Astros are stocking up on infielders for the stretch run.
The team acquired Ramón Urías from the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for right-hander Twine Palmer, MLB.com's Jake Rill reported on Wednesday.
John Heyman of the The New York Post was first to report the deal.
Urías has a .248/.300/.388 slash line with eight home runs and 34 RBIs in 77 games while playing a part-time role for the Orioles this season.
The 31-year-old primarily plays third base and is best known for his defence, taking home the American League Gold Glove at the position in 2022.
Palmer, 20, was a 19th round pick by the Astros in 2024 and has appeared in 13 single-A games.
Urías will help mitigate the loss of Astros' starting third baseman Isaac Paredes, who is reportedly set to miss two months with the right hamstring strain he sustained July 20.
