Nate Pearson's time in Houston may be coming to an end.
The Astros designated the right-handed reliever for assignment, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reported on Sunday.
Pearson, the ex-Toronto Blue Jay, has appeared in 16 games with the Astros on the season, posting a 3.60 ERA with 16 strikeouts and 12 walks over 20 innings.
He spent a season-and-a-half with the Chicago Cubs after a mid-season trade from Toronto in 2024, pitching in 30 games for the NL Central club.
Infielder Ray Delgado is in the Astros clubhouse, per Rome, a suggestion that he may be taking Pearson's place on the roster.
The Astros host the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday looking to avoid a three-game sweep. Live coverage on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+ begins at 2 p.m. ET / 11 a.m. PT.
