Corbin Carroll will spend part of his off-season recovering from elbow surgery.
The all-star outfielder told the Arizona Republic's Nick Piecoro on Friday that he had a procedure done on Thursday to remove loose bodies from his right elbow.
Carroll told Piecoro that he felt some discomfort during the season, but that the pain worsened in the last week, leading to the surgery.
“I’m guessing a couple broke off during the season and a couple broke off last week,” Carroll said. “Last week was when I really had significant symptoms where it was like, ‘Hey, this is worth taking a look.’”
The 26-year-old underwent the minimally invasive NaneScope surgery, the procedure that Tarik Skubal had during the summer and allowed him to return in only six weeks.
He's hoping that it will allow him to be ready for spring training on time.
“I’m hoping to start swinging the bat at the beginning of December,” Carroll told Piecoro.
Carroll is coming off a 2026 season in which he posted a .795 OPS with 22 home runs, 21 stolen bases and an MLB-leading 17 triples. He also earned his third career all-star nod and won the National League Gold Glove in right field.
A first-round pick in 2019, Carroll won the NL Rookie of the Year in 2023 and finished fifth in MVP voting that season and sixth in 2025.
