Arizona Diamondbacks catcher Gabriel Moreno has apparently had "no symptoms whatsoever" after being hit by a backswing in Game 2 of their Wild Card series against the Milwaukee Brewers, manager Torey Lovullo reportedly told media on Friday.
The backstop is expected to be in the lineup for Game 1 of the NLDS series against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday.
Moreno took the hit in the second inning after Brice Turang's swing came around and got him in the helmet. He remained in the game until the end of the second inning but was replaced by Jose Herrera in the third.
Moreno, 23, has been an important piece for the upstart Diamondbacks squad after they acquired him in the trade that sent Daulton Varsho to the Toronto Blue Jays.
He hit seven home runs and had 50 RBIs while carrying .284/.339/.408 splits in his first year in the majors.
The catcher also hit his first career post-season home run in their 6-3 victory in Game 1 of the series against the Brewers.
Game 1 between the Diamondbacks and Dodgers will take place on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 9:20 p.m. ET / 6:20 p.m. PT. You can watch the game on Sportsnet or Sportsnet+.
