Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Brusdar Graterol's season is in doubt after suffering a Grade 3 hamstring strain, ESPN's Alden Gonzalez reported on Wednesday.
Graterol left Tuesday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies after throwing just eight pitches in the bottom of the sixth inning. The 25-year-old was in tears while leaving his first appearance of the season.
The injury is Graterol's third of 2024 and likely eliminates him as an option in the bullpen for the remainder of the season, according to ESPN.
Graderol made his MLB debut with the Minnesota Twins in 2019 and has been with the Dodgers since the 2020 season.
Staying healthy has been a yearly struggle for the hard-throwing reliever and has limited his time on the mound to just 183 innings over his six-year career.
Graterol was tabbed to be the Dodgers' primary setup guy in 2024 but sustained a shoulder injury in spring training that landed him on the IL until August. He posted his best season both health-wise and performance-wise in 2023, spinning a 1.20 ERA across 67 innings with Los Angeles.
The Dodgers are now without Blake Treinen, Michael Grove and Ryan Brasier, all three of whom are integral members of their bullpen.
