The Los Angeles Dodgers are bringing back outfielder Jason Heyward on a one-year, $9-million contract, ESPN's Kiley McDaniel reported Monday.
Heyward, 34, proved to be a productive player for the Dodgers after signing a minor-league deal with the club last off-season, following an injury-riddled 2022 with the Chicago Cubs.
Heyward batted .269 with 15 homers and 40 RBIs for the Dodgers in 124 games in a platoon role.
A five-time Gold Glove winner, Heyward was selected to the All-Star Game in his rookie season with the Atlanta Braves in 2010 and won a World Series with the Cubs in 2016.
In his 14-year career with the Dodgers, Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals and Braves, Heyward has slashed .258/.339/.410 with 174 home runs and 681 RBIs.
