Former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Aaron Sanchez has agreed to a $4-million deal with the San Francisco Giants, the San Francisco Chronicle‘s Susan Slusser reports.
Per Slusser, incentives could move Sanchez’s deal to $6.5 million.
The Chronicle reports that San Francisco had been considering Sanchez as early as the beginning of the off-season, but took special notice last week when the former Blue Jay hit 98 m.p.h. during a bullpen session.
The 28-year-old did not play last season while recovering from a shoulder injury. His last campaign in the majors came in 2019, wherein he split time between the Blue Jays and Astros following a July 2019 trade that sent him to Houston.
An all-star with Toronto back in 2016, Sanchez had a 5.89 ERA in his last MLB season and has a 3.89 ERA over the course of his six years in the big leagues.
