Former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Chase Anderson has agreed to a deal with the Philadelphia Phillies pending a physical, according to MLB Insider Robert Murray.
Anderson became a free agent after Toronto declined his $9.5-million club option in favour of a $500,000 buyout. Acquired for minor-leaguer Chad Spanberger last off-season, the 33-year-old struggled in 2020, allowing a 7.22 ERA and 11 home runs in 33.2 innings.
An oblique injury sidelined Anderson early in the season, but he still started seven games to go along with three relief appearances.
