The San Francisco Giants are leaning on one Bay Area superstar to try and bring in another.
Aaron Judge spent two days meeting with Giants' staff as they try to recruit the reigning AL MVP to the west coast. A part of that recruiting pitch was connecting the star outfielder with four-time NBA champion and Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry.
NBC Sports Bay Area's Alex Pavolic reported on the details of Judge's visit to San Francisco, including the team's effort to connect the two MVPs.
The Giants have emerged as a legitimate landing spot for the four-time all-star. With a geographic edge on the Linden, Calif.,-born Judge and a willingness to spend this off-season, they seem to be his most likely destination should he leave New York.
“From a financial standpoint, there’s nobody that would be out of our capability to kind of meet what we expect the contract demands will be,” San Francisco's President of Baseball Operations Farhan Zaidi said at the GM meetings in early November.
Jon Morosi of MLB Network also said on Wednesday that Judge's meetings in San Francisco were "very productive."
