Top free agents Aaron Judge, Jacob deGrom and Trea Turner all received $19.65 million qualifying offers from their respective teams on Thursday.
The deadline to extend the offers was Thursday at 5 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. PT, which is also the end of MLB's quiet period as free agents are able to sign with any of the 30 teams.
Toronto Blue Jays starter Ross Stripling was one player in the mix to receive an offer but was not among the 14 players.
Free agents can be extended qualifying offers only if they have been with the same MLB team since Opening Day and have not received a qualifying offer previously in their career.
If a player has received the qualifying offer and signs with a new MLB club, their former team would receive a draft pick as compensation at the end of the first round or at the end of competitive balance round B. The pick received depends on the total of their new contract and the revenue-sharing and luxury tax status of their original club.
While it is not surprising that the top free agents received the $19.65 million offer, some notable names that were extended the deal are Carlos Rodón, Xander Bogaerts, Willson Contreras and Dansby Swanson.
The other seven players are Brandon Nimmo, Chris Bassitt, Anthony Rizzo, Tyler Anderson, Martín Perez, Joc Pederson and Nathan Eovaldi.
