Pitching depth is headed to South Florida.
The Miami Marlins are acquiring right-handed pitcher Bradley Blalock from the Colorado Rockies for minor-league right-handed pitcher Jake Brooks, the teams announced on Tuesday.
Blalock was designated for assignment by the Rockies last week. He made 14 appearances and 12 starts for them in 2025, pitching to a 9.36 ERA and 1.84 WHIP.
He previously played for the Milwaukee Brewers. The 25-year-old has a career 8.16 ERA and 1.82 WHIP in 21 appearances.
Brooks, 23, pitched to a 4.58 ERA and 1.246 WHIP between two minor-league levels in 2025.
Miami DFA'd right-hander Osvaldo Bido in a corresponding move. The Marlins claimed Bido off waivers from the Tampa Bay Rays earlier this off-season.
The Marlins add Blalock after trading starters Ryan Weathers and Edward Cabrera to the New York Yankees and Chicago Cubs, respectively.
