The Miami Marlins have traded pitchers Tanner Scott and Bryan Hoeing to the San Diego Padres.
San Diego is sending Robby Snelling, Adam Mazur and two other prospects to Miami in return.
Scott, 29, has impressed on the mound during what is unfolding to be a career season for the southpaw. Through 38 innings pitched, Scott has pieced together a 6-5 record with the basement-dwelling Marlins while carrying a 1.48 ERA.
He is also 13-15 in save opportunities so far this season and is shaping out to be a versatile arm for San Diego to use down the final stretch of the season.
The Baltimore Orioles dealt Scott to the Marlins in 2022 and the left-hander has taken over the mound for the club ever since.
Scott was selected to the 2024 MLB All-Star Game in Texas earlier this month, following his breakthrough first half of the season with Miami.
Scott is playing in his eighth season in the big leagues and is on pace to rake in the most innings of his career in 2024.
