It appears Canadian pitcher Cal Quantrill will be looking for a new home.
The Miami Marlins have placed the right-hander on outright waivers, The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal reported Tuesday.
Quantrill has a 5.50 ERA over 24 starts with Miami this season, but has especially struggled as of late with an 11.25 ERA over his last three starts.
The Port Hope, Ont., native is in the first season with the Marlins after signing a one-year, $3.5 million deal with Miami this off-season. If any team decides to claim him off waivers, they will owe the remainder of his $3.5 million salary.
Quantrill, 30, has pitched over seven MLB seasons with the San Diego Padres, Cleveland Guardians, Colorado Rockies and Marlins. Over his 147 career starts, he owns a 4.26 ERA.
