Some heat is headed to Philadelphia.
The Phillies have acquired closer Jhoan Duran from the Minnesota Twins, the team announced Wednesday.
Top prospects Eduardo Tait and Mick Abel have been sent to Minnesota in return.
Armed with a 100 m.p.h. fastball, Duran is putting together another solid season in Minnesota. Through 49 games, the closer has 16 saves and 53 strikeouts across 49.1 innings with a 2.01 ERA.

Duran has also been worth 1.3 WAR, per FanGraphs.
However, the Twins have struggled and appear to be in sell mode as they sit under .500 and seemingly out of reach of a wild-card spot.
According to The Athletic's Dan Hayes, Duran was asked about the possibility of a trade earlier in the day, saying it would "be hard."
"I got a couple years here and I feel like here is my family, so if that happens, that’s maybe breaking my heart a little bit."
For his four-year career with the Twins, the 27-year-old Duran holds a 2.47 ERA across 223 games — all in relief. He’s also recorded 292 strikeouts across his 233.2 innings.
Duran, of the Dominican Republic, has two more years of arbitration eligibility before reaching free agency.
Tait, an 18-year-old catcher in high-A, is ranked as baseball's No. 56 prospect by MLB Pipeline. Across two levels this season, he is slashing .255/.319/.434 with 11 home runs and 57 RBIs.
Abel, meanwhile, got his first taste of big-league action earlier this season, making six starts for the Phillies. In triple-A, the six-foot-five right-hander has a 2.31 ERA and 81 strikeouts in 74 innings. MLB Pipeline has the 23-year-old ranked as the 92nd best prospect in baseball.
