The Philadelphia Phillies and Minnesota Twins are trade partners once again.
Philadelphia has acquired outfielder Harrison Bader from the Twins, the team announced Thursday afternoon.
The move comes less than 24 hours after the Phillies swung a blockbuster deal to land Minnesota closer Jhoan Duran.
Bader, 31, had been a stabilizing presence in the Twins' lineup, slashing .258/.339/.439 with 12 home runs and 10 stolen bases while playing solid defence across all three outfield spots.
Signed by Minnesota on a one-year, $6.25-million contract in the off-season, Bader will likely hit free agency this winter, thanks to a 2026 mutual option, where he'll look to cash in on his bounce-back 2025.
Philadelphia had been rumoured to be in the market for a right-handed hitter after adding the flamethrowing Duran to its bullpen.
For his career, Bader has traditionally performed better against lefty pitchers, but with the Twins, he was equally effective against pitchers of either handedness. He will join the Phillies with a .774 OPS against lefties and a .779 OPS against righties.

After breaking into the majors with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2017, Bader has gone on to make multiple stops in recent seasons. Since 2022, he has played with the Cardinals, Yankees, Reds, Mets and Twins.
Bader won the National League Gold Glove in centre field with the Cardinals in 2021. His fielding continues to rank among MLB's best, as he currently ranks sixth among all qualified outfielders with 13 defensive runs saved in 2025.
He will likely get thrown into centre with the Phillies, where Brandon Marsh and Johan Rojas have been splitting duties. But Rojas has a .569 OPS, and Marsh struggles mightily against left-handed pitching.
The Athletic's Matt Gelb reported that outfield prospect Hendry Mendez and right-handed pitching prospect Geremy Villoria will be the return.
Mendez was ranked as Philadelphia's No. 12 prospect by MLB Pipeline. The 21-year-old has spent all of 2025 at double-A, batting .290 with eight home runs and 46 RBIs.
Villoria, a 16-year-old righty, was playing for Philadelphia's Dominican Summer League team. He had struck out 19 batters over 14 innings while posting a 4.50 ERA.
