The Pittsburgh Pirates have added a leverage reliever to their bullpen.
Left-hander Gregory Soto and the Pirates are in agreement on a one-year, $7.75-million contract, ESPN's Jorge Castillo reported on Tuesday.
The 30-year-old had a 4.18 ERA with 70 strikeouts and 24 walks over 60.1 innings split between the Baltimore Orioles and New York Mets last season.
Soto has previous closing experience with the Detroit Tigers, recording 48 saves over two seasons in 2021-22.
He stands to be another late-inning option for the Pirates, alongside incumbent closer Dennis Santana, who took over the role when Pittsburgh dealt David Bednar to the New York Yankees at last season's trade deadline.
