Jacob deGrom doesn't want to leave the Texas Rangers.
The two-time Cy Young winner used his no-trade clause to block a deal by the club, The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal reported Monday.
The 38-year-old right-hander got trade protection when he signed a five-year, $185-million deal with the club before the 2023 season.
Rosenthal reports the Rangers also have approached other players about possible trades, including Corey Seager and right-hander Nathan Eovaldi.
The Rangers (55-57) entered Monday's play second in the AL West, 2.5 games behind the Houston Astros.
Seager can block deals to eight clubs, and gains full no-trade rights at the end of the season under the rule granting it to a player with 10 years of service, and five consecutive with the same team.
Eovaldi, like deGrom, can block deals to any team.
DeGrom is 7-7 with a 3.96 era this season. He is a five-time all-star, and won the NL Cy Young with the New York Mets in 2018 and '19.
