Tampa Bay is getting a boost to its bullpen.
The Minnesota Twins traded reliever Griffin Jax to the Rays in exchange for starting pitcher Taj Bradley, the teams announced Thursday.
Jax, 30, holds a 4.50 ERA in 50 games with Minnesota this season, striking out 72 opponents in 46 innings.
He also has closer experience dating back to last season, when he recorded 10 saves while Jhoan Duran was injured.
Bradley, 24, owns a 4.61 ERA over 21 starts for the Rays in 2025 and was optioned to triple-A Durham in July after a stint of poor outings.
The move continues Minnesota’s sell-off after it moved on Duran on Wednesday.
Now, Jax will head to the Rays for their playoff push, while Bradley will slot into the Twins rotation.
Jax has spent his entire career with the Twins dating to his 2021 debut. Over five years, he carries a 4.06 ERA while registering 378 strikeouts in 336.2 innings. He remains under club control for two more years with arbitration eligibility.
