Former Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Teoscar Hernandez has agreed to a one-year, $23.5 million contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers, per ESPN's Jeff Passan.
Hernandez joins the Dodgers' list of major acquisitions this off-season, joining Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Tyler Glasnow in Los Angeles.
Passan also reported that $8.5 million of Hernandez's $23.5 million will be deferred, and is to be paid out from 2030 to 2039.
After spending six seasons with the Blue Jays, Hernandez was traded to the Seattle Mariners last off-season in a deal for reliever Erik Swanson and pitching prospect Adam Macko.
Hernadez slashed .258/.305/.435 and hit 26 home runs in his lone season with Seattle. He also struggled with strikeouts, totalling a career-high 211 punchouts, which ranked as the third most in all of baseball.
The 31-year-old is a one-time All-Star and claimed back-to-back Silver Slugger awards with Toronto in 2020 and 2021.
He has played in parts of eight MLB seasons with the Blue Jays, Mariners and Houston Astros.
Over 811 career games, Hernandez owns a .261 average with 159 home runs, 161 doubles, 473 RBIs and 42 stolen bases.
