Kyle Finnegan is staying in Detroit.
The right-handed reliever is in agreement with the Tigers on a two-year, $19-million contract, pending a physical, ESPN's Jeff Passan reported on Tuesday.
The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal was first to report the news.
Finnegan was traded to the Tigers from the Washington Nationals at last season's trade deadline and had significantly more successful results in the Motor City.
The 34-year-old occupied the closer role in Washington before the trade, and he pitched to a 3.47 ERA with 55 strikeouts and 18 walks over 57 innings split between the two teams.
However, he recorded a 4.38 ERA with the Nationals, also earning 20 saves, while in Detroit he had a 1.50 ERA, completing only four saves in 20 appearances.
Finnegan will join Will Vest as a late-inning option at the back of the Tigers' bullpen.
