After a hectic day for the Baltimore Orioles, and with the trade deadline come and gone, they continued to make moves.
This time, it was bringing MLB's No. 1 overall prospect Jackson Holliday back to the majors once more for his second big-league stint.
Andy Kostka of the Baltimore Banner was the first to report the news.
With the O's No. 7 prospect Connor Norby being sent to Miami in a trade earlier on Tuesday, Holliday was subsequently scratched from the triple-A Norfolk Tide lineup. Reportedly on his way to Camden Yards, he will likely help the team fill its gap at second base.
Holliday, the first overall selection in the 2022 draft, climbed the rankings quickly but was sent back to Norfolk earlier this year as his first visit to the pros didn't go as planned. The 20-year-old was originally called up shortly after opening day and made his debut on April 10. He went on to appear in 10 games for the Orioles where he struggled, connecting on an abysmal 2-for-34 at the plate.
In the minors, Holliday has totalled a .271 batting average with 10 home runs, 38 RBI and a .908 OPS with the Tide this season.
It's possible that Holliday will slot into the Orioles' lineup for their series finale against the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday. You can watch the game on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+ starting at 12:35 p.m. ET / 9:35 a.m. PT.
