The Minnesota Twins have made their first splash of the off-season.
First baseman Josh Bell and the Twins agreed to a one-year contract with a mutual option, ESPN's Jeff Passan reported on Monday.
Bell, 33, is a switch-hitter who is expected to play first base and designated hitter for the Twins.
Last season, he hit .237/.325/.417 with 22 home runs for the Washington Nationals.
Bell has hit .256/.341/.443 with 193 home runs and 676 RBI in 1,287 career games with the Nationals, Pittsburgh Pirates, Miami Marlins, San Diego Padres, Arizona Diamondbacks and Cleveland Guardians.
