Willi Castro is on the move.
The Chicago Cubs are acquiring the utilityman from the Minnesota Twins for pitching prospects Ryan Gallagher and Sam Armstrong, the teams announced Thursday.
The switch-hitting Castro has emerged as a consistent presence in Minnesota's lineup over the past three seasons. In 2025, the 28-year-old is slashing .245/.335/.407 with 10 home runs and nine stolen bases.
Castro has spent time defensively at second base, third base, shortstop and in all three outfield positions.
A seven-year MLB veteran, Castro began his career with the Detroit Tigers before signing with Minnesota as a free agent in 2022.
Castro will once again hit free agency this off-season.
