Unlike their crosstown rivals, the New York Yankees are keeping their guys around.
Utility man Amed Rosario is going back to the New York Yankees on a one-year deal worth $2.5 million, Jon Heyman and YES Network's Jack Curry reported on Saturday.
Rosario, 30, was traded to the Yankees at the 2025 deadline from the Washington Nationals. A career journeyman, he came into the league with the New York Mets in 2017, and has since played for seven clubs, including the Yankees.
Rosario only took 33 regular-season at bats for the Yankees this past season hitting .303 with no walks. He went 3-for-10 at the plate in the post-season.
For his career, Rosario slashes .273/.308/.400. His total WAR is 10.3 over 1,004 games in the majors. He led the American League in triples in 2022.
Rosario is expected to be a key bench piece for the Yankees next season, with the chance to play a bigger role than last year depending on how free agency plays out.
