New York Yankees third baseman Miguel Andujar has handed in a trade request according to MLB insider Hector Gomez. The news was later confirmed by Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.
Rosenthal further reported that this wasn't Andujar's first request to leave The Bronx.
The Yankees optioned Andujar to triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barrie on Friday. The Domincan Republic native hit for .268/.279/.317, zero home runs, three steals, seven strikeouts and one walk.
